I’m not exactly surprised the negotiations between Anthropic and the Department of War broke down. Anthropic was never going to allow its software to be used in ways it didn’t approve of, and the Department of War was never going to allow anyone else to call the shots.

I’m mostly surprised they got that far in the first place.
